NPH to Star in Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Bring on the Glitter!  Neil Patrick Harris (NPH) just announced via Twitter that he will starring in the newest Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch .  This is going to be amazing!

The Musical  tells the story of Hedwig, a transgender rock star from East Germany who is in search of love and the American dream. NPH gets to channel Hedwig and all his make-up and his glittery glory.

This role was made legend-waitforit-dary  by John Cameron Mitchel both on stage and in the cinematic version.

This new revival will be directed by Michael Mayer, and curtains are expected to open with previews on March 29 and officially on April 22 at the Belasco Theatre.

NPH has said of this role, "I am simultaneously ecstatic and terrified to be stepping into Hedwig's high heels."

While NPH is no stranger to the stage, this will be his first Broadway show since he starred in the Tony-winning revival of the musical Assassins, nearly a decade ago.  He's also been busy with his twins, his television series How I Met Your Mother as well as hosting events like the Tony Awards. Point of interest, his reemergence into the limelight can be attributed to his small, but hilarious role in Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.  He's come a long way, huh?
