3 days post Miley-Gate

So, it's been 3 days since Miley Cyrus launched herself into infamy by grinding her nastiness on teddy bears for her song "We Can't Stop" and Robin Thicke's crotch during his "Blurred Lines" song.

There are plenty of celebs coming to her defense, like Justin Timberlake who says, ""She's young, she's letting everyone know she's growing up."  And that it was a performance at the VMA's, not the Grammy's. It's an appropriate venue for that kind of "performance."  Cyrus' twerking, racy act was not the first of it's kind.  K$SHA, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Britney Spears have all performed overly sexy sets of their own.  Britney was even a Disney kid like Miley, but something about what Miley did at this awards show just shoves her into another stratosphere.  There are plenty of other opinion pieces out there trying to correlate Miley's performance to racially implicated stereotypes.  Whatever way you want to say it, good, bad or indifferent, she really made an impact.

Timberlake later went on to say in the interview that, "My favorite part of the Miley Cyrus thing was the Smith family reaction." Which in actuality, their reaction was to Lady Gaga's thong-show.

On the flip side of things, Miley is taking all the flak, but where is Robin Thicke's responsibility in all this?  He is an adult. He is a father.  He is a husband.  He is 16 years older.  During all of their rehearsals, did it never occur to him to step up and tell the producers to tone that shiz down?  Why is she getting all the blame, when he is as much a part of the performance as she was?  His wife seemed really cool about a 20-year-old grinding on her husband.  Why?

Regardless, three days later, and here we are...still talking about it.
